Ah, by the way, thanks!

Why do I see more people complaining than people who are grateful for what they have? Actually, we have everything we need, don't we? Our Western world in the past and the Third World today:

In the past, life expectancy was around 40 to 50 years. It was so low because the things that are normal for us today did not exist. There were no health care facilities or great medicine. It was not certain that you or your child could survive the winter with so little food and so much cold. There were diseases that killed more people than world wars. Today there are parts of the world where it is similar. In the Himalayas, for example, I have seen families with their children who burned plastic in their living room because they had nothing else to heat - but did not understand that the chesty cough was coming from it.
Our Western world today:
In our Western world today, we do not have to use such means. We have little to worry about such fundamental issues. We have it all - security and food, but also prosperity, leisure activities and technologies that make our lives easier and easier.
And yet I hear people everywhere complaining about everything and dwelling on issues that are completely meaningless ... to themselves and their environment! So what? Then the food doesn't taste perfect. And? Then the reception in the car is not so good. It would certainly have been better in a carriage. So what? Then the heater needs a little longer to warm up. Preheat it with some plastic meanwhile. Let's just be thankful that we can choose between countless dishes and options! Our grandmothers would have been happy to eat more than butter during the war.

We have everything, but I see more people complaining than people thanking. Thanking us for living in absolute luxury. For having everything we could possibly want. Thanks for having running, drinkable water from the tap - hot or cold. For going to the supermarket and being able to buy everything just like that. Why do we always want more? Why aren't we just satisfied with what we have?
Consumption is super important for our system - we have to consume - more and more, that's true. Nevertheless, it would be good to be grateful instead of always wanting more. Maybe it would make us happier to put the flood of information aside more often, to feel what is happening around us and to appreciate what kind of ecosystem of over-luxury we actually live in. We should be aware of how damned good we actually are that we can get upset about such irrelevant things in the first place. I think the family from the Himalayas would be happy about a real heater. And I think our grandmothers would be happy if we appreciate the luxury and the life we are allowed to have.
Why don't you try:

For 2 weeks, in the morning and in the evening, try to say thank you from the bottom of your heart for what you have. Afterwards you will probably feel better and get upset about less irrelevant topics.
